For 101 years, Amarillo Children’s Home has been a safe haven of hope for children facing unimaginable hardships. From our beginnings, we’ve remained steadfast in our mission to restore the identity of children, helping them realize their inherent value and empowering them to become a blessing to others.
Here, children experience more than just a safe place to live. They find family. In our care, large sibling groups remain together, fostering bonds that heal. In our cottages, House Parents provide love, stability, and daily guidance, while our staff ensures children have access to resources that support their educational, social, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Our Programs: A Path to Restoration
Through innovative programs, we create pathways for children and young adults to heal, grow, and thrive: •Residential Program: A structured, safe, and nurturing environment where children receive counseling, education, and personal growth opportunities. •Transitional Living Concepts: A program for youth aged 16+ that equips them with life skills like budgeting, job readiness, and independence. •Supervised Independent Living: Supporting young adults aging out of foster care with mentorship, guidance, and resources to navigate adulthood. •Foster Care Homes Program, Fostering with Faith and Support: Launched this year, this program allows our team to train and license foster care families and help facilitate the placement of children (birth to 17 years) in nurturing homes across the Texas Panhandle. •Scholarship Support: Empowering youth to pursue higher education with financial aid and support.
