100 Club of the Texas Panhandle

A nonprofit organization

We are the First Responders to our Area First Responders...

Every day, firefighters and law enforcement officers choose to protect and serve.  They leave their families not knowing whether or not they will return at the end of the day.  Our prayer is that they do return safely, but we want them to know that we are there for them and their families if a crisis occurs...will you join us in standing behind the men and women behind the badge?

The 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle is there within the first 24-48 hours of when tragedy strikes area firefighters and law enforcement officers and their families. But, we are so much more than that.

During the record-setting wildfires this year, the Board of the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle knew we had to do something to help.  But, due to the number of departments
working the fires, we did not have the budget to help all of them...but we did. Through God’s provision, the 100 Club was incredibly blessed to be able to
raise over $900,000 in eight weeks and pay it out to the over 50 volunteer
fire departments fighting the wildfires.  The 100 Club was also able to help
purchase a UTV and trailer for AFD’s Wildland Unit and purchase a recovery
trailer for the Randall County Fire Department.  Sadly, the 100 Club
also paid out one $20,000 line-of-duty death benefit and three $5,000
line-of-duty injury benefits as a result of the wildfires.

The 100 Club of Amarillo was founded in 2004 by Vance Reed, Chris Reed, Tod Mayfield, Tim Williams, David Stidham, Ronnie Mankin, and some other local businessmen, to support area first responders. We became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2006 and expanded to the top 26 counties of the Texas panhandle in 2011 and changed our name to the 100 Club of the Texas Panhandle.  We are 100% funded through memberships, donations and fundraising events with the mission to:

Provide immediate financial assistance to the families of certified peace officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty.

Provide immediate financial assistance to certified peace officers and firefighters
injured in the line of duty and unable to work.

Purchase life-protecting and lifesaving equipment for law enforcement and firefighting agencies
that cannot be secured through budgeted funds.

Our goal this year is lofty at $100,000 as we are adding a new component to our mission...mental health and wellness for area firefighters and law enforcement officers.  With the number of suicides among first responders across the nation on the rise, the 100 Club Board of Directors voted to add mental health and wellness to our mission.  While we can't pay for individual counseling sessions for each one, we can plan and provide wellness conferences twice a year in a group setting.  We held our first-ever wellness conference on 2/22/2025 and just under 500 first responders attended.
