The Wellington Community Fund was created in 2007 when the Don and Sybil Harrington Foundation awarded a grant to match locally raised funds. The fund is housed with Amarillo Area Foundation (AAF). Although some local grants were made, no active plan was in place to help advisors seek donations and grow the fund.
In 2015, WCF was selected for an AAF pilot program focused on building an Endowed Community Fund.
Each year, the WCF hosts a yard sign fundraiser featuring Collingsworth Co students' artwork. This money is put back into the community through beautification projects, including the beautiful mural by City Hall, the planters and benches around the square, and new trees around all the parks. Your donations to WCF make these projects possible.
We join The Panhandle Gives each November to help raise money and get it 'amplified' so we can continue our beautification work around Wellington. Thank you for your interest and for any donations. Please give today, and help us keep giving back.
