Valleyview Food Pantry / Clothing Boutique

The Valleyview Food Pantry / Clothing Boutique has been helping feed and clothe people in Amarillo and its surrounding area for 7 years. The typical people we serve are families who live paycheck to paycheck and struggle, especially when the unexpected happens. They are couples who choose to raise their great-grandchildren instead of allowing them to go to foster homes. It's a grandmother who chooses to raise her grandchildren after the death of their parents. They are immigrants, refugees, and those new to the area and do not have traditional support structure. They are people who are between employment, struggling with medical bills, car repairs, etc.  With your support, Valleyview can continue to help these families with groceries for at least 2 weeks so they don't have to worry about how they will feed their families.

Our boxes of food for our clients have
spaghetti noodles and sauce, beans, rice, soups, canned corn, green beans,
mixed vegetables, fruits, mac & cheese, and potatoes to make meals along
with eggs, milk, bread, and meat. When the Food Bank is out of the food we need, we must
pay full price for the groceries at retail stores.

Our outreach continues to grow. We are currently helping over 600 people each month with groceries and clothes. And we don’t stop there. We’ve helped with car repairs, gasoline, utilities, and household items.

Valleyview’s passion is to assist people when they need help and encourage them to get on their feet. We will always be there to give them a helping hand. 

Who We Are

On September 8, 2018 the Valleyview Food Pantry / Clothing Boutique opened its doors. We weren’t sure who would come, but we wanted to help those who did. The typical people we serve are not the homeless. They are families who live paycheck to paycheck and struggle, especially when the unexpected happens. They are couples who choose to raise their great grandchildren instead of them going to foster homes. It's a grandmother who chooses to raise her grandchildren after the death of their parents. Then after an accident and several surgeries later, she can no longer work but they are family and no matter what will stay together. With your support, Valleyview can continue to help these families with groceries for at least 2 weeks so they don't have to worry about how they will feed their families.
The Food Pantry / Clothing Boutique is open the 2nd Saturday of the month from 10 am to 1 pm. Emergency hours are 7 to 8 Tuesday evenings, 9 to 11 Thursday mornings, and during this pandemic from 1 to 2 Saturday afternoons outside of the 2nd Saturday. There is no charge to anyone who comes. And we will not turn anyone away.
We are the only pantry in Southwest Amarillo and one of three pantries in Amarillo that remained open when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
We offer a variety of meats, canned vegetables, potatoes, rice, beans, cereals, soups, macaroni and cheese, pastas, bread, eggs, milk, cheese and fruit along with toiletry items such as soap, shampoo, toilet paper, toothbrushes, toothpaste, combs, nail clippers, and diapers. The amount of items given depends on the size of the family.
Our clientele continues to grow. We are currently helping close to 500 adults and children each month with groceries and clothes. And we don’t stop there. We’ve helped with car repairs, gasoline, utilities and household items.
