A Letter from the Board Chair

As we step into 2026, I'm honored to write to you as Board Chair during what has been a year of transition for the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation and the TEXAS Outdoor Musical.  Change, when guided by our mission, can be healthy.  It has allowed us to reaffirm what matters most: telling the Panhandle's story under the stars and welcoming audiences to unforgettable nights in the Palo Duro Canyon.

Even amid change, our commitment to excellence on stage and behind-the-scenes has never wavered. I'm deeply proud of our cast, crew, creative team, volunteers and partners whose passion carried us forward.  And I'm especially grateful to you: our donors, members, alumni and friends whose steadfast support made this possible.  From production needs to scholarships for talented performers, your generosity has been the backbone of our success.

This upcoming year we will celebrate a remarkable milestone: the 60th season of TEXAS.  Few productions anywhere can claim six decades of tradition, artistry, and community impact.  That legacy exists because generations have chosen to invest in it.  With your help, we can ensure the next 60 years are just as vibrant.

Your support his season will:

  • Sustain essential production elements that keep our performances world-class

  • Attract and retain top-tier talent onstage and off

  • Expand access and education, including scholarships and outreach

  • Enhance the audience experience at the Pioneer Amphitheatre

One of the most meaningful ways to stand with us is by joining or renewing your membership in the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation.  Membership provides vital annual support and comes with special benefits such as behind-the-scenes opportunities and free tickets; while directly fueling the artistry you see on stage.  If you're able, please also consider a season sponsorship, an endowment gift, or a legacy commitment to secure TEXAS for future generations.

Together, we can honor six decades of storytelling and build what comes next; new memories for families, inspiration for  young artists, and a stronger cultural anchor for our region.

Thank you for believing in this work and for standing with us in a year of renewal.  I can't wait to see you in the canyon for our 60th season.

With gratitude,

Bryant Coon
