What Your Gift Makes Possible

Storybridge helps children in the Texas Panhandle grow up surrounded by books, supported by confident parents, and ready to thrive in school and in life. Your gift during The Panhandle Gives supports our four core programs:

  • Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

  • Kinderbridge

  • Free Book Fairs

  • Summer Storytime

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library

Delivering books to 9,000+ children across the Panhandle—every month.

Because of you:

  • A child receives a new, high-quality book in the mail each month.

  • Homes that once had no books now have age-appropriate collections.

  • Reading becomes a nightly ritual, not a once-in-a-while moment.

From a parent: “This is the only mail my son gets, and he literally jumps up and down every time. He thinks someone out there really knows him.”

Kinderbridge Parent-Child Sessions

Helping parents become their child's first and best teacher.

Because of you:

  • Parents learn how to support early language, behavior, and emotional development.

  • Children practice school-ready skills long before they enter the classroom.

  • Families receive take-home enrichment kits and books to support daily habits.

From a parent: “Kinderbridge opened my eyes as a mother to how important camaraderie is among caregivers. To be seen and heard in an environment where I'm learning... is a beautiful thing.”

Book Trailer School Visits

Putting thousands of books into children's hands—one school at a time.

Because of you:

  • Over 6,000 elementary students had free book access to build their home libraries.

  • Students light up when they realize, "These books are mine!"

  • Teachers see reading engagement and enthusiasm jump with every Book Trailer visit.

From a teacher: “One student couldn't wait to show me the bag of books he chose. He was so excited he asked me if he could please read them during recess.”

Summer Storytime & Community Outreach

Keeping families reading, kids learning, and neighbors connected during the summer.

Because of you:

  • More children avoid the "summer slide" and build their literacy skills.

  • Families have free access to high-quality, in-person enrichment activities all summer long.

  • Shared experiences each week create core memories for all children.

From a parent: “These events get kids excited to be out in community each week. The themes really help them connect to books and get excited about reading.”

A Kinderbridge Story...

Jalyn sat on the rug with her 2-year-old, Noah, at their very first Kinderbridge session. Noah was all about the toys, and Jalyn liked the parenting discussion, but she still hung back a little—watching other moms sing and play with a confidence she wasn’t sure she had yet.

Then Ms. Sara kicked off a simple activity with balloons and paper-plate paddles. Laughter filled the room, and as Jalyn tried to keep a balloon in the air, she struck up a conversation with another mom whose toddler had teamed up with Noah. It felt easy.

At the end, Ms. Sara helped Noah pick out a free book to take home. Jalyn whispered to a volunteer, “Do we need to bring this back next week?” When she learned Noah would get to keep a new book every time they came, her face lit up—and Noah was so excited they read his new book together in the car before leaving the parking lot.

In the months that followed, they hardly missed a session. Recently, Jalyn told Ms. Sara, “This has changed everything. I’ve learned so much, I’ve made new friends, and Noah brings me books to read every night.”

This is what happens when families get tools, confidence, and support.

This is Storybridge.
