Who We Are

Make-A-Wish grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.

Through this COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize the economic consequences and know that many non-profit organizations and worthy causes will feel the impact. As an organization completely funded through philanthropy, Make-A-Wish is one of them. With wishes being postponed and significant fundraising events being adjusted or rescheduled, there will be more children waiting for a wish locally than ever before. When the moment comes, Make-A-Wish must be ready. How many wishes we grant and how quickly we grant them will come down to funding. Your support will bring hope to wish kids when they need it most.

Since 1980, Make-A-Wish has granted hundreds of thousands of transformative wish experiences worldwide. Our organization's vision is to grant the heartfelt wish of every eligible child battling critical illness. We currently have over 80 children in West Texas waiting for a wish; and we believe they simply cannot afford to wait. Wishes are not reserved for children with terminal illnesses. In fact, medical research reveals wishes provide physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. Wishes are catalysts for hope -- profoundly effective in fueling a child's drive to defy the odds and push toward tomorrow. Families are unified and entire communities are enriched -- the positive impact is boundless.
