League of Women Voters of Amarillo

The League of Women Voters is one of America’s oldest and most trusted civic nonprofit organizations. Formed in 1920, the League of Women Voters represents over 700 local Leagues across the country. The League in Amarillo was formed in 1950 and is operated entirely by volunteers.  LWV never supports or opposes candidates or political parties. Instead, we encourage informed and active participation in government and seek to empower voters across the political spectrum. We produce nonpartisan Voters Guides for every election, work to register voters of all ages, and encourage citizens to turn out and vote so their voices can be heard.  Membership in the League is open to all persons 16 and older.
