Guyon Saunders Resource Center

A nonprofit organization

The Mission of The Guyon Saunders Resource Center (GSRC) is to provide a safe daytime refuge offering basic service basic services in a respectful environment that fosters dignity, trust, and hope for those experiencing homelessness and poverty.

The GSRC has facilitated resources for the
homeless since 1993. Over 2,000 men, women and children are served annually. The Center provides daytime shelter, showers, laundry, mail service and resources for
developing necessary skills for self-sufficiency. With the help of Transformation Park we are able to feed a meal daily. The Xcel Energy computer lab is used to obtain GED's, apply for snap benefits, etc.  We are also a site for a Legal Aid Kiosk, which can be used for court hearings.  Each day the GSRC staff and volunteers work with approximately 160 clients to find the best solutions to move
from crisis to stability. The GSRC continues to evolve and meet the needs of
the homeless population within our region, while working to change the
community perception of homelessness

Our future looks bright as we will be relocating to 460 S Parker in the Fall of 2026 in collaboration with Transformation Park, Hillside Christian Church and the City of Amarillo.  Construction is active. This facility will be open 24 hours and will be a safe environment. Meals will be prepared and served in the Joe & Laura Street Day Center
