Pediatric Medical Travel Assistance
While Amarillo may be the center of the Texas Panhandle and where families from all over our area come to receive specialized medical care, there are very few pediatric medical specialty programs. Many of the families that we support travel to Lubbock, Cook Children's Hospital in Ft. Worth, Children's Medical Center in Dallas, Texas Children's Hospital in Houston or even out of state in order for their child to receive proper life saving medical care and treatment.
The Children’s Heart Lane helps provide financial support to these families needing to travel outside of our area to receive specialized pediatric medical care and treatment that Amarillo does not offer. Our Pediatric Medical Travel Assistance Program helps off-set the costs to these families such as fuel, meals, lodging and hospital parking fees.
We are 100% volunteer ran, funded by generous businesses and individuals from our area and do not receive any federal, state or local government funding. We are the ONLY non-profit in our area that provides this type of program for ALL pediatric medical conditions, regardless of income or insurance status.
