A World For Children

As a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, A World For Children contracts with and is licensed by the State of Texas to provide foster and foster-to-adopt services for abused and neglected children across the State. At A World For Children, we pride ourselves on being more than simply a corporation—we’re one big extended family.

Our office in Amarillo currently serves 15 foster families throughout the panhandle of Texas. A World for Children serves children and families from ALL 41 counties in the panhandle. We serve newborns all the way to children aging out of the system; we provide daily support to caregivers as they love and cherish our community's most vulnerable children. Foster care is hard, but we truly believe that when children are put first, healing can happen.  Support from community members like you creates the village needed to raise healthy children!  Region 1 is in great need of foster parents.  We have a dozen families working through the process to become licensed foster parents in 2026.  Your donations during The Panhandle Gives will help us provide wraparound support for current foster families and brand-new foster caregivers stepping into the foster care world.  Monetary gifts will provide funds for; essentials for children coming into foster care, Foster Parent Appreciation, the annual Christmas Party, Back to School, the annual family trip to Fiesta Texas for agency families, and Launch Camp for Teens in Foster Care, as well as help us in recruiting efforts.  We want to be a part of the work to bring Region 1 children back to the area from Houston, Austin and Dallas.  We need foster families to do that!

A World For Children’s foster parents, along with the 24-hour support of A World For Children’s staff, spend every day changing uncertainty into undying stability, mending physical injuries, and providing in-depth treatment for emotional trauma.
