Main Street Canyon preserves and celebrates Canyon's historic character, cultural heritage, and community traditions while fostering a vibrant downtown and creating opportunities that enhance the place people live, work, visit, and invest.
Founded in 2002 by Evelyn Ecker and former Canyon Mayor Lois Rice, Main Street Canyon was established to strengthen downtown Canyon through historic preservation and revitalization. The organization's first major goal was the restoration of the 1909 Randall County Courthouse, completed in 2008, which sparked preservation awareness, heritage tourism, private investment, and economic growth downtown. Today, Main Street Canyon continues that legacy by preserving the community's historic character while supporting a vibrant and sustainable downtown. |

The organization provides façade grants that encourage the restoration and maintenance of historic downtown buildings, helping property owners preserve the character and integrity of Canyon's built environment. Main Street also collects stories and oral histories from longtime residents, preserving the people, traditions, and experiences that have shaped the community for generations. As an active participant in the Courthouse Preservation Initiative, the organization continues to advocate for the protection and stewardship of one of Canyon's most significant historic landmarks. |
