Collingsworth County Home Delivered Meals

Collingsworth Home Delivered Meals began in the early 70's operated by Tessie Burba out of the Community Action Building. In 1992, the operation moved to the Panhandle Community Services Building (the Old American Legion Hall) and operated there until October of 2022. Since that time it has continued to grow and now boasts a successful Congregate dine-in program in addition to the home delivered meals program. Thanks to the generosity of the Zephyr Foundation, the program now operates out of the newly remodeled Bura Handley Community Center where the state of the art kitchen was added to the north end of the building. These programs serve a much needed demographic through these programs along with other programs through the High Plains Food Bank which allow us to serve low income individuals over the age of 60. The HDM and Congregate Programs are dependent on donations from clients, community individuals and businesses as well as partial federal funding. The programs could not succeed without these contributions from our community.
