Homeless Heroes is a Veteran-led nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness among Veterans in the Texas Panhandle through a housing-first approach rooted in dignity, stability, and purpose.

Our mission is simple but urgent: create real, lasting housing solutions for the men and women who once served our country and now need their community to serve them.

Through our flagship initiative, Hatch Homes for Heroes - Project Astro, we are transforming a former motel directly across from the Amarillo VA into a supportive housing community designed specifically for Veterans. These are not temporary beds—they are permanent, HUD-compliant apartments paired with 24/7 on-site support, transportation, and access to critical services.

We believe that housing is the foundation for everything else—health, recovery, employment, and reconnection. When a Veteran has a door to close, a kitchen to cook in, and a place to belong, everything changes.

But Homeless Heroes is more than housing.

We are building a community where Veterans thrive—where camaraderie replaces isolation, where resources are accessible, and where hope is restored. Every unit we build is a step toward a stronger Amarillo, where no Veteran is left behind.
